KNX Sensors

KNX is the worldwide open standard (ISO/IEC 14543-3) for home and building control. Because every certified device speaks the same language, an installation can mix manufacturers freely and still behave as one system — lighting, blinds, HVAC, metering, access and audio on a single bus.

Sensors are what make a building react instead of merely respond. Presence and motion detectors, constant-light controllers, room temperature units, CO2 and humidity sensors and weather stations feed live data onto the bus, where any actuator or visualisation can act on it. One presence detector can hold light levels, set back the fan-coil and report occupancy to the BMS at the same time.

In UAE projects the energy case is straightforward: daylight is abundant, cooling is the dominant load, and occupancy is uneven. Constant-light control with presence-based setback delivers measurable savings against ASHRAE and Estidama baselines while improving comfort, and the same sensors give facilities teams occupancy analytics for cleaning and maintenance planning.
