KNX Power Supplies

KNX is the worldwide open standard (ISO/IEC 14543-3) for home and building control. Because every certified device speaks the same language, an installation can mix manufacturers freely and still behave as one system — lighting, blinds, HVAC, metering, access and audio on a single bus.

Every KNX line needs a certified power supply with an integrated choke. It feeds 30 V DC to the devices on the line, absorbs telegram traffic and, on diagnostic models, reports current draw and bus voltage so an overloaded or shorted line is found in minutes rather than days.

Sizing is simple but unforgiving: allow headroom above the summed device current, keep to the permitted cable lengths between supply and devices, and provide a separate supply per line. Getting it wrong produces intermittent faults that look like software problems and cost weeks on site.
